Isn’t it enough that a shockingly new dress—the emerald green frock worn by Keira Knightley in Ian McEwan’s irritatingly overplotted Atonement—was deemed the "greatest movie costume of all time"?
Watch out, movie costume judges: Another British literary novel is hitting the silver screen and it, too, features a jewel-tone green dress in its poster.
When does iconic become ironic?
I think they're all copying my green Zang Toi gown ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat's that eighties song--"Everybody Zang Toi Tonight"? ;) They probably are copying you.
ReplyDeleteof ALL TIME? Uh, I have to take issue with that. It's a nice dress, but I could name about seventeen squillion movies with better costumes.
ReplyDeleteI still say the green dress can't be iconic, because it only came out last year...will we be talking about it in 10 years? Who knows.
ReplyDeleteBut that dress is gorge and I want to see this film even if I haven't read the book!
A movie version of Brideshead? I didn't realize. I liked the Masterpiece Theatre version from, how many years ago? But I also recommend reading the book.
ReplyDeleteYes, that green dress was lovely but I wouldn't call it iconic, at least not yet.
Another iconic green movie dress: Scarlett O'Hara's drapes dress.
