what do you think of this look for a mother of the bride theme? is it dressy enough? it sure is a refreshing departure from the tired look in bridal shops....
I think it all depends on the mother of the bride's attitude and her willingness to own this look. But I'd trade the more casual crew for a smart, very plain white blouse with a strong pointed collar. I'd then fill in the neckline with a gorgeous statement necklace like the one shown.
This is a gorgeous, confident look that reminds me of when Sharon Stone wore her husband's white shirt to the Academy Awards with a Vera Wang ballgown skirt and was the best dressed there.
No kidding, so funny you should remember that! I remember hearing someone say it was a gap tee - it has since given me permission to use the 'less is more' approach. Thanks for the input, love your blog, I check it daily. Kathi
If I remember correctly, Ms. Stone pushed the fashion boundaries a year prior to her white shirt with a black GAP mock turtleneck tee at the Oscars. Once again, she looked fabulous. I'm all for the high/low mix when possible; love a good bit of *bite* to a look! Thanks again for visiting!

I don't see why that isn't allowed for all jobs.
I think I can get away with it. I've pushes so many boundaries at work so people just expect me to turn up dressing like ... urg like that!
