"Bathing Place"

A tiny gem of a card (about 3.5 x 4.75) that I found in Yale’s Center for British Art shop.

Image by Nikolaus Willem von Heidelhoff (1761-1838).

Pub. in The Gallery of Fashion, London, 1797.

This instantly made me think of Jane Austen's novels, especially "Persuasion". Lovely!

I love visiting your blog and have just added it to my list of favorite blogs on my new blog, *gemmifer*. I would love it if you would stop by and give it a look.

La C, They are really soothing, I think, especially when coupled with the slight breeze pictured . . .

Thanks for stopping by, Jennifer, I'll definitely take a peek chez vous!

Makes me think of characters by Flaubert, who go by the sea in Normandy...
