These Isabel Marant boots have every element that I dislike in footwear:

side fringe
cowgirl homage
stacked heel
jingly metal things.
So why do I like them?
It's that French, Beatrice Dalle, jolie laide vibe,
with a good dose of je ne sais quois.

Sigh, I loved Beatrice back in the day. Thought she was the most beautiful woman on earth. She looks much older than her years now.
Marant is SO on my radar...I am thinking of stopping by her new store when I am in New York next week.
I think that those boots are a hot mess.
I think they are hideous but sometimes we get drawn to things that suggest another side to ourselves.
I like these boots, quite a lot. I'd probably wear them daily.
Oh dear. I'd say Jolie Laide minus the Jolie.
