J Crew and Target both offer a peacock-fabric swimsuit this season.
The J Crew, in the original Liberty print, is to the right and costs $125.
The Target, in a reimagined Liberty print (dare I say a Liberty *inspired* print) is below, and costs about $19.99.
To my mind, the Target/Liberty prints look fine when clustered together, but when compared with the original, there's no contest.
Which one do you think is better for the beach this summer?

Oh God...is it bathing suit time already...
I was hoping to like the Target one better. It didn't turn out that way. I don't like all the bunched up fabric. And Jcrew's print is better too.
While the second print is pretty enough, and I like that ruching at the bodice, the first suit is a more interesting colour and I do like its print better.
Definitely the first. The lines are gorgeous.
The Target one is a very clever cut, chosen to flatter the majority of its customers who have as much chance of fitting into that J Crew suit as I do (that'll be zero). And I like how they used the Ianthe print as a springboard for a newly evolved print. For me, it's everything that a diffusion range should be, a homage without pissing off the full price paying customers. LLGxx
No, absolutely no comparison, I must admit I don't like the Target one at all.
When you have a mo, could you pop over to mine, I have something for you.

I agree with you, but I don't like bathing suits in a print of any kind. Mine's are either black, white or red, and will continue to be so, since I find solid colors definitely classier and more slimming.
Methinks I'd rather go to London.
