Of Shoes and Flour

I am ogling this perfect summer shoe by YSL in a mysterious, unarticulated "fabric"--that's all that the Browns website says.

I'm imagining a burlap/linen combination.  Well. not burlap really, but that slightly rough feel that the linen mix then gentrifies.

The color is called "nude," which we all know by now is inappropriate, so I will rename this shoe as "wheat."

Alas, if only it didn't cost as much as $1000 bags of flour.

Egad! I'd call them "oat" coloured. And I couldn't suppress a brief thought that one could make these shoes relatively easily - if one knew how to make shoes, that is. Very attractive despite the price.

Really, what are they trying to do with that pricetag—pull the flourbag over our eyes?

It is a lovely shoe, however. I just adore it.

I say skip the "wheat" shoes and go for the Cathy Waterman "wheat' ring on Beladora!

That *would* be a better investment, Belle . . .
