Miss C Has Left the Building

In all my superior snowy bluster, I neglected to mention that we stayed at XV Beacon on New Year’s Eve, a tall, slender hotel tucked away in a corner by the Statehouse.

I’d heard about it last year on Melissa’s blog, and, trusting her taste, thought I’d give it a try.

The charming gentleman at the front desk gave me a set of calling cards (one of which is displayed here on my daughter’s origami for scanning purposes). But please don’t ring me there, because I have, as you can see, checked out!

Here’s a photo of the lobby, which has been described as “masculine.” The literature professor in me (who needs glasses?) immediately thought the chap in the bust was the Bard, but soon realized that he was all about the Benjamins.

From our room we had a partial view of the 7 p.m. NYE fireworks, a cozy gas fireplace, and delicious room service. I recommend the salmon.
