For some time I’ve wanted to wear something more asymmetrical, a la Ivan Grundahl, but have not been in the right place at the right time.
But certain stars were in alignment this week, when I ordered this Helmut Lang jacket from Bergdorf’s.
Here are three different views, above and below, all from different websites.
The jacket will arrive some time next week, and I will not get excited in advance, because it may not work for me at all, but I confess that I am curious to inspect this jacket in person.

I LOVE it! Can't wait to find out how it looks on you...
Love the jacket...but those trousers in the third photo are horrendous. I would like to see that jacket over a black pencil skirt.
I love interesting jackets!
Ohhh... I love it too! Please let us know how you like it.
LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! Lucky girl!!!
THAT is my dream jacket. I love severe, architectural clothing. A ponytail wld be kind of fab, but I quite like messy hair with this look too.
I was just thinking of you as, *comment you must be sooo bored of by now* found all my Anne books in the attic.
Happy New Year! LLGxx
It's a fantastic jacket. I, too, have been more into assymetrical looks.
Huge fan of asymmetry! The beauty of the shape is that it offers an array of movement and each angle is a unique perspective. The way that it is styled in photo 3 is a complete denial of its inherent gifts.
I actually refashioned a double breasted coat to get this look. I switched some buttons around and voila!
Great jacket! Do keep us posted about this. I've always liked Helmut Lang.
I love that jacket! I'd love to see it when it arrives, hair up or down, surprise us.
Maybe a pony tail on the side, assymetrical as well!
This jacket is gorgeous! Love the collar... I say wear it up in a loose bun!
