Pomo Puffs

Sometimes puff sleeves are too little-girly.

When I buy a Christiane Celle Calypso dress, for instance, I’ve learned to remove the elastics from the short sleeves so as to deflate the puffs, making them more grown-up and wearable for me.

But in this look as worn by Gwyneth Paltrow

and in the two jackets by Balmain here

and here,

this new, postmodern puff sleeve can be,

well,

puffection.

I agree about de-puffing a puffed sleeve! These are just perfect, sharp and not overly girly.

Right you are. That structured shoulder rides the line between poofy princess and scary shoulder-pad perfectly. Gwen's dress is simply stunning.

Gwenyth looks chic...that dress is fab.

Honestly, I tend to go for puff sleeves, but like you said, not too little girlish....that's just not good.

Yes, agree. It's not girly certainly but there's also a risk of making it say '80's' with shoulder pads but these look neither.

Very elegant but sort of dignified? right description do you think?

Gwyneth looks so hot in that dress! And her hair! Perfection. The look is edgy and feminine at the same time.
