It’s rare these days that a book cover fills me with delight, but whenever I saw this Rizzoli recipe book, La Cucina, I was smitten.
And as many of us (in the United States) are contemplating a day of cooking and baking, what better time to ponder a pretty book of recipes?
I’m looking forward to making a pumpkin pie tomorrow; my favorite recipe is from my ancient (1980s) but trusty Silver Palate cookbook. And I love Sheila Lukins' charming illustrations throughout as well . . .
Hope all gentle readers near and far are enjoying a week of culinary delights, whether you’re preparing for Thanksgiving, reaching into your own pantry, or ordering takeout!

Well you know we share a love of that recipe. And I hope you have a lovely time with your family... (Don't be videoing the occasion now :-))
Well, at least the Rachael Ray Show thinks my family has a good time at the Thanksgiving table!! (The horror! The horror!)
Class act picking the Silver Palate. I tweeted about having the hubby's boss and wife over for dinner, treating them to the Salmon Mousse. It was a crowd pleaser, if sending them home with a doggy bag justifies that honor?!
What's this about the Rachael Ray show? Pray, tell.
Oh, haha: the RR show contacted me a while back to ask if I would permit the host to air some video from my family's TG dinner (from a couple of years ago). My children had been making (compelling?!) conversation around the table.
I did, however, decline, not wanting to make my television *debut* (more laughter) in that format!
I love the Silver Palate Cookbook too.
Miss C. you need to post that video up so we may all enjoy it!! That La Cucina cookbook has a gorgeous cover, by the way. Thank you for the lovely wishes and many of the same to you and yours!
