TV Style

Last night my children and I were watching a DVD of The Partridge Family (yes, really!) and while they were captivated by the show in general, I appreciated seeing lovely stars from the 1970s in their prime.

I was especially drawn to Farrah Fawcett in this absolutely stunning mini dress. On a lesser sort it could have a considerable, well, skank effect, but on this Texan blonde, the dress is as innocent and fresh as a daisy.

Love this dress in its context. (And yes, Jaclyn Smith makes an appearance in a later episode.)
*Images from DVD, hence the slight blurriness.

That is the type of dress I imagine myself wearing while shopping on the French Riviera.

Wow, I didn't know she was in that show. She looks gorgeous in that tennis dress. Very lovely - but not sleezy at all...

What a great re-visitaion (is that a word?) of 1970s style. I'd also love to see some photos of Marlo Thomas from her "That Girl" period.

I agree, not many women could wear that dress without looking skanky! Farrah actually does it, though.

As for myself, I think the cutouts would be an ultimate deal breaker...

Great retro look to emulate - how nice to see an alternative 70s style to the usual editorial choices.
